A question for Sen. Menendez: Who are “they”? (Video)

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez went on the offensive Wednesday night (April 1) attacking the Justice Department and charging that they had been tricked into starting an investigation on him three years ago with false allegations. He added that the investigations were politically motivated and meant to silence him.

“But I will not be silenced!” he boasted to a crowd of well wishers and media present.

Earlier Wednesday Menendez was indicted on 14 charges of using his legislative office to benefit an eye doctor in exchange for gifts.

Menendez began the evening conference by stating that he has lived under a Justice Department cloud for nearly three years and was “outraged that this cloud has not been lifted!”

“I’m confident at the end of the day I will be vindicated and they will be exposed…” said the senator.

The senator never explained who “they” were.
