Pass it on

We live in a society that stresses over the simplest and sometimes stupidest things. For example, the latest toys – for the children and for ourselves… The advertising industry makes sure that those who own an I-Phone 5, for example, start obsessing about the I-Phone 6 coming out in the fall, in the summer. It’s thinner, bigger screen, takes better photographs, fill in the blank…

Just today I found this short video in The New York Times that appears below. It’s about a Congolese man who turns scraps found in the street into a soccer ball for the village children. In this less stressful part of the world, with all the hardships that may come with living here, the insignificant – in this case actual junk – can bring us (and our children) happiness.

It gave me plenty to think about.
