NED: $23 million in Cuba grants under Trump

Since Donald Trump became president, the State Department has funneled at least $23,208,612 to the National Endowment for Democracy for Cuba-related projects, records show. (Oct. 31 update: This figure was inaccurate. See correction).
Here are the top five recipients through 2019, according to the latest records I could find at explorer.usaid.gov:

  1. Cuban Democratic Directorate, $3,900,000
  2. People in Need (Czech Republic), $1,433,616
  3. Grupo para la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa en Cuba, $1,380,000
  4. CubaNet, $1,350,796
  5. Asociación Diario de Cuba, $1,320,000
