From the Editor: Since declaring that she would NOT help the three congressional hopefuls from South Florida in their fight to wrest seats from Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz Balart, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has come under strong attacks by Democratic Party leaning blogs and bombarded with messages from normal everyday people upset with her actions. At Progreso Weekly we ask that you contact Ms. Wasserman-Schultz via email or phone and let her know how much you disapprove of her behavior in these important South Florida races. Please be strong but courteous. Below is a sample email that you can send. You may add your name, address and telephone number at the bottom of your message. Also, please copy and send to Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Chris Van Hollen. He needs to know how you feel about Debbie’s actions.

SAMPLE EMAIL:

“Two key components of a winning campaign are message and the resources to make sure that message is heard by your voters. The DCCC’s Red to Blue program will put the right structural and financial resources in place in campaigns across the country. Our goal is to identify the campaigns that can win and provide them with the extra resources to ensure that they do win,” said Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Debbie, please put these words into action and actively campaign with the Democratic Party to defeat Republican Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart.  These are campaigns that can be won and your active support is one of the resources needed in South Florida.
