Donate to Irma relief for Cuba
In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, Cuba faces a long and difficult road to recovery. CDA is launching a special appeal to support immediate relief efforts.
Donate here to provide much-needed assistance.
CDA is working with organizations on the ground in Cuba to provide emergency items such as water, food, shelter, and hygiene kits, as well as longer-term recovery supplies.
Hurricane Irma made landfall in Cuba as a massive Category 5 storm and hovered over the island for 72 hours, killing ten people, devastating coastal communities, and causing extensive flooding. The Miami Herald reports Irma was the first Category 5 storm to hit Cuba since 1932, and the UN Office of the Resident Coordinator estimates 90% of Cuba has been impacted. Homes and businesses have been destroyed. With unprecedented damage to the electrical grid that powers essential services, millions are without clean drinking water.
Act now to provide immediate assistance to the Cuban people. All online donations to CDA through Friday, September 22 will be devoted to Irma relief in Cuba.
Donate now to play an important role in the hurricane recovery in Cuba.
