Gov. Richardson Participates at UN Climate Change Convention

SANTA FE – Governor Bill Richardson is attending the United Nations Convention on Climate Change today in Cancun, Mexico. The 16th conference, sponsored by the United Nations, features heads of state, ministers and delegates from 192 countries. Governor Richardson was invited to share his views on a U.S. State Department panel dealing with sub-national climate issues. New Mexico is recognized as one of the leaders in tackling climate change at the state level. Governor Richardson will also be the keynote speaker later today in Mexico City at the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute. Governor Richardson will return to Santa Fe on Tuesday.
