There goes Gov. Scott again with drug testing

The ACLU has filed a lawsuit in Florida to stop a new law that was passed by the legislature, and signed in March by Governor Rick Scott, mandating that new job applicants for state jobs, and a random sample of the existing state employees, “pee in a cup” to test for drugs. Attorneys for the ACLU insist the law is unconstitutional.

Yesterday I wrote that Scott had also signed another law requiring persons in the state receiving welfare benefits to undergo drug testing before they are given their cash. I guess Scott’s a big time anti drug person. So don’t smoke the weed if you want a state job. Maybe you can consider Medicare fraud – he doesn’t have that big of a problem with that as his past has demonstrated…

But back to the drugs. And I am still insisting. Let’s start drug testing Florida’s state legislature. They ARE being paid by the state. And I’d bet you we’d get some surprises along the way.
