The Virgin of Charity

September 8th is a day of great faith for Cubans. It is the day when La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre (The Virgin of Charity), patroness of Cuba, is celebrated. Known by many as Cachita and in the Afro-Cuban religion as Oshun.
