Rick Scott leads Bill Nelson in new U.S. Senate poll

Republican Gov. Rick Scott is leading by five percentage points in his bid to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, according to a new online survey from Saint Leo University.
Scott is supported by 39.5 percent of the voters surveyed, compared to 34.4 percent for Nelson. The poll – which has a 4.5 percentage point margin of error – found 17.8 percent of voters are undecided and 8.3 percent prefer someone other than Scott or Nelson.
The survey of 506 voters – conducted from May 25 through May 31 – also found that 58.5 percent of those surveyed have a favorable view of Scott’s performance as governor.
