Marco’s astute and thinking of 2012
Marco Rubio is an astute politician. I checked the definition of the word astute and decided it fit the new U.S. senator from Florida perfectly. Dictionary.com defines astute as: “having or showing shrewdness and discernment, especially with respect to one’s own concerns.”
Why? You might be asking.
His own concern is the reason why.
Marco is suddenly interested in Afghanistan. Foregoing, at least for a while, his number one priority here in Florida: Jobs for Florida workers!
Money spent on wars around the globe is part of the reason our economy is still in the tank, Mr. Senator. And nation building, as you suggested to William Arch, the Tampa Tribune reporter, was our goal in Afghanistan is the number one reason George W. Bush drove us into that tank with his U.S.-style democracy for the rest of the world philosophies.
But Marco Rubio is a good student of politics. He does not want to face questions as to his readiness to tackle problems like Afghanistan in the future. That’s if he was to run on a presidential ticket in 2012…
Give him credit. Sen. Rubio is readying himself for bigger and better things.
