Many questions for so much injustice in the case of the Cuban Five

What happened to the intelligence? What happened to the sense of justice in the US Empire?
And what about the discernment capability of the new President, a man that few months ago became the hope of a country that has dragged down the world’s economies into a crisis?
I ask myself these questions as read – in a rage- the US Supreme Court’s decision of refusing to review the case of our five Cuban brothers, unjustly incarcerated in that neighboring country for fighting terrorism.
The judges may not be in their right mind for being against the world, for ignoring a case that has been manipulated for political purposes and, since the very beginning, has been a victim of a judicial system acting in bad faith.
The current long and arbitrary sentences levied against Gerardo, Ramon, Fernando, Antonio and Rene are less than crazy and a fact proving how linked is the “Yankee justice” to the interests of the powerful ones.
For a reason, the world is uneasy for this decision, and this voice, which is becoming more powerful and multinational will not quiet down, until the injustice be settled, that is, the immediate release of the Cuban Five.
It is very symptomatic these facts. Firstly the President denies the possibility of a review, secondly the judges of the Supreme Court do the same, without taking into account the reasons and solid arguments of the defense attorneys.
And, as if that wasn’t enough, they don’t even hear the call of the international community, including 10 Nobel Prize holders, who claimed the Supreme Court to retake the case.
Undoubtedly, this is a new example of the incredible, reaffirming the hypocritical, cruel and manipulating character of a system that value the power of wealth, over the human beings. A system where order and reason do not rule, and the voice of power is the one listened.
But against that voice, another one rises up; the voice of the peoples and of solidarity. A voice that will hammer on the consciences of those who from the White House or from the Supreme Court today want to keep freedom, true and justice behind bars.
