Global Links accepting financial donations to support Hurricane Matthew recovery efforts

Global Links, a Pittsburgh-based international humanitarian aid organization, is responding to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Matthew by preparing medical equipment and supplies that will support health services and hospitals damaged by the storm.

Hospital gloves, masks and gowns are among the items being packed by the thousands by staff and volunteers at the Global Links headquarters in Green Tree.  These and other medical supplies and surplus equipment donated by hospitals and businesses throughout western Pennsylvania  will be shipped to Global Links’ partners on the ground in each country and distributed to the communities most impacted by the storm.

“Because our regional hospitals and health systems are both generous and committed to taking the extra steps of directing their surplus to us year-round rather than sending it to landfills, we are well supplied to immediately respond to this crisis,” says Global Links Executive Director and Co-Founder Kathleen Hower.

Global Links is currently accepting financial donations to cover the cost of shipping medical supplies to the affected areas.   Donations can be made online at www.globallinks.orgor by sending a check to:
