Blog site predicts Crespo for Marti
According to the Rui Ferreira blog, Herejias y Caipirinhas, Radio and TV Marti director Pedro Roig was given the boot. But you know how these things are handled sometimes, “Buddy, you have a choice, you call it quits (so you look good to the public) or we will fire you…” Roig, no dummy, thanked the administration and said he was leaving.
Another interesting prediction from Ferreira (who, by the way, advised in his website that Roig would be departing two weeks before he did) is that Roig’s successor at Radio and TV Marti has already been chosen. He uses word play to state that the person has curly hair.Curly translated to Spanish is Crespo. In other words, the person might be Paul Crespo, who recently lost the primary race for congress in district 25 against our favorite liar, David Rivera. Crespo, by the way, was not much of a choice against Rivera. But that’s another story for another day.
So if Crespo is the successor… I don’t see much improvement from Roig to Crespo. Then again, what are we doing still spending $50 million a year on radio and TV stations nobody sees or hears? The Martis have always been a political giveaway – a way to create jobs to friends and political allies in Miami. What I still don’t get is why Obama keeps it financed when a great deal of the money goes to derail his presidency…
