Billboard critical of Cuban American pols goes up in Miami

A recently formed dark-money group, Keep Them Honest, is launching an ad campaign in Miami aimed at pressuring Republican politicians, specifically Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart, María Elvira Salazar, and Carlos Gimenez, to oppose President Donald Trump’s immigration policies and cuts to pro-democracy funding.

The ads, appearing on billboards and digitally throughout South Florida, criticize the potential deportation of immigrants, particularly those fleeing dictatorships, and highlight the perceived silence or complicity of these politicians on immigration matters.

While the group advocates for the politicians to uphold traditional stances on protecting immigrants, Rubio and the representatives have defended their actions, citing efforts to secure the border and introducing legislation to provide pathways to legal status for certain groups, refuting the idea that they have been inactive.
