Miami’s Joe Garcia named to Dept. of Energy post

The Miami Herald is reporting that Joe Garcia, who ran an unsuccessful campaign to unseat U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, has been chosen by the Obama Administration to head the Office of Minority Economic Impact for the Department of Energy. Garcia now needs confirmation from the U.S. Senate.

Garcia is the first Miami-Dade resident to take-on a high profile position with the new administration in Washington.
