Raúl Castro arrives in Russia

Moscow (Prensa Latina) – Cuban President Raúl Castro was welcomed in Moscow today (May 5) by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, reported the TV channel Rossia 24.

The Cuban president arrived at the Vnukovo-2 International Airport (seen in photo above from Cubadebate), invited by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, to attend the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

Cuban Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez; and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Leopoldo Cintra Frias also joined the Cuban president in this international celebration.

According to a note from the Russian government, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and President Raul Castro tomorrow will discuss, in the House of Receptions, the prospects for the implementation of joint projects in areas of common interest such as energy, transport and health.
