Bad news: at this point, it looks like Marco

Folks this ain’t looking good. As time passes Marco Rubio’s chances of winning look brighter by the day. And that, in my opinion, would be a tragedy.

Marco has proven to be a skillful politician, yes. But, like his mentee, David Rivera, he is a proven liar – the difference being he is more skilled at it. He is able to hide his Pinocchio nose, something David’s having a hard time doing these days.

Four polls recently released in this race for U.S. Senate in Florida all have Marco Rubio ahead of Governor Charlie Crist and the Democratic Party nominee Kendrick Meek.

What worries most – again my opinion – is that, as Chris Cilliza of the Washington Post blog, The Fix, states, “Republicans are starting to coalesce around him. A Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that 67 percent of registered Republicans are backing Rubio while 22 percent are backing Crist and seven percent are undecided. Democrats, meanwhile, remain fractured; 47 percent are backing Meek while 31 percent are behind Crist.”

The only thing that may save Crist going forward is his financial situation. At present he leads all candidates in this race with $8 million to spend before election day.

True, I am one of those who is totally against money in politics – it’s ruining this country. But in this case, call me the pragmatist. I hope $8 million more come in and allow Charlie to paint a pretty picture before election day helping to put him over the top. Wishful thinking, maybe…
