Impeachment trial will coat the GOP with excrement

Republicans in Congress have no case to acquit Donald Trump and no lawyers to argue the case other than the dregs of the legal profession. The case against Donald Trump is stronger than the case against O.J. Simpson ever was, but the outcome is likely to be similar: acquittal.

Same logic too: he is our boy, we hate the people prosecuting him, so we are going to find him not guilty regardless of his obvious guilt. We will be damned if the liberal white elites (Marcia Clark, the House of Representatives) are going to condemn one of ours, no matter how guilty. It’s called jury nullification, which means that the jury will vote their prejudices and not their conscience.

The crimes of Donald Trump are far worse than those of O.J. Simpson, amounting to several hundred thousand excess deaths from Covid-19 along with all the deaths on the border, in the attack on the Capitol, in the illegal killing of an Iranian general, and many more.

There should be an international tribunal, however symbolic as the U.S. exempts itself from the jurisdiction of all impartial international courts, to try Trump for his crimes against humanity. Not for what the Congress is trying him for because Congress is full of Copperheads, the term used during the Civil War to mark Southern-sympathizing traitors.

The good thing about the impeachment trial is that acquittal will for all history coat the GOP with excrement. Like the Macbeths, who could never wash away the blood of the man they murdered, King Duncan, Republicans will never be rid of the pestilence and the shame. Live with that, die with that, Republicans.
