Cardinal Ortega

Havana 06/30/2010 – “Yes, it is true that Cardinal Ortega was in Washington,” I was informed by Orlando Marquez, spokesman for the office of the Archbishop of Havana.

Jaime Ortega, the Cardinal and Archbishop of Havana, who together with other dignitaries of the Catholic Church currently sustains a dialogue with the Cuban government, traveled to the U.S. capital on Monday, June 21, and returned to Havana exactly a week later.

During those seven days Cardinal Ortega “had meetings which were coordinated by the Conference of Catholic Bishops of the U.S.,” added Marquez, without mentioning the names of the persons with whom the Cuban archbishop conversed.
